When you get invited to participate in a gallery event, you jump on it!
And then you freak out😱🤣!
So here's what happened.
I was sent 5 blank postcards from Brassworks art gallery, to paint for an upcoming 2nd annual postcard show.
AND THEY ARE SO SMALL!!!
Not easy to paint for an abstract artist!
We like big canvases!
More space to play with paint and ideas, less restrictive.
But what was even more intimidating, is the fact that once show opens, they plan to sell those tiny paintings for a 100 dollars each!!!
I thought I'd have to paint something super detailed, very realistic, a Monalisa or something🤣...I started to have panic attacks.
The state of self-doubt set in.
I still struggle with it, even after 3 years of painting and showing my art.
I learned to break out of it by acknowledging what is happening and looking back on all my successful projects, that also started with a self-doubt.
The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to paint how I paint.
Realizing I have nothing to loose, I decided to just start painting.
My style!
My vision!
My kind of art!
The end result is beautiful and totally me.
The show opens on 12/14/2024 at www.brassworksgallery.com
So check it out.
But here's a sneak peek for you.
Please let me know what you think.
